Copper landlines are being retired. A few dates to know:
- Nov 5: FCC-authorized date for AT&T to stop certain business lines (PrimePath and some Business Local Exchange lines) in 34 states + DC, including Florida.
- Nov 15: AT&T copper POTS lines in parts of 1,000+ wire centers in 18 states, including Florida.
- Nov 16: Frontier (now part of Verizon) is discontinuing copper-based services in Florida under its state tariff, except Lifeline, with a transition period.

These are “on or after” dates, and whether your line is affected depends on your address. Check any notice letter from your carrier. Don’t forget alarm, elevator, fax and PBX lines.
